Lip Blushing: The Art of Luxury Lip Couture

Lip Blushing is a professional semi-permanent lip colour procedure. It involves using a hand-held device to implant pigment into the skin of the lips. The popular makeup technique is straightforward and very different from the lip fillers introduced in the early 1900s. From then on, various substances, including paraffin wax and liquid silicone continued to be tested as cosmetic lip injectables. However, throughout the 1950s, icons like Marilyn Monroe wore layers of lipstick and gloss to achieve their voluptuous lips and perfect red pout. These new techniques would be approved as safe much later. Fast forward a few decades and long-lasting lip blush tattoos are all the rage.

Celebrities such as Britney Spears and Rihanna often talk about their lip tint tattoos. Similarly, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, Kyle Richards, shared her makeup-free selfie on Instagram. Kyle had the natural lip-blushing procedure adding fullness and correcting symmetry to her lips after having microblading.

Lip-Blushing – How Does it Work?

Cosmetic Tattoo Clinic Manchester carries out this professional lip-blushing service with minimal pain creating beautiful youthful-looking lips. Lip tinting can enhance the lip’s natural colour, shape and asymmetry, and camouflage scars on the lip tissue. In short, our qualified technicians can rectify imperfections and save you time. The process is carried out once the lips have been numbed using an aesthetic. A tiny, mechanised needle deposits pigment into the lips which builds layers of colour. This normally takes approximately 90 minutes but can vary depending on individual requirements.

Lip Blush and its Benefits

Besides being convenient, long-lasting (up to 5 years), and minimally invasive, professional lip tattooing has heaps of benefits:

  • Rejuvenates the colour of the lip border – especially in women who lose pigment with age.
  • Sculptures the cupid’s bow and adds fullness to the sides of the lips.
  • Builds collagen and elastin in the skin due to the microneedling technique.
  • Minimises pigmentation issues and improves colour tone consistency.
  • Offers individuals who have difficulty applying their makeup an alternative solution.
  • Ensures lips are smudge-free and look flawless all day and night.
  • Represents a long-term investment by saving on cosmetics.

How to Care for Your Lip Blush Tattoo?

  • Right after the procedure, you might notice some swelling in your lips. Gently apply an ice pack or cold compress as needed to reduce swelling and maintain cleanliness of the lips.
  • For 24 hours, gently press a damp cotton pad against your lips, or use lukewarm water with an unscented soap or cleanser. Allow them to dry naturally.
  • As your lips begin to heal you might notice some scabbing. It’s crucial to allow these to shed naturally; picking at them can lead to scarring or pigment loss in those areas. Resting your face on a surface may lead to the early shedding of scabs. Your lips will heal superficially after approximately 5 to 10 days and fully kissable within 8 weeks.
  • Refrain from any workouts and sun exposure for two weeks.
  • Apply the healing balm recommended by the Cosmetic Tattoo to keep your lips hydrated and looking their best.

At first, the lip tint will be incredibly vivid. However, the colour will soften by 30-50 %, merging with your natural lip shade.

Tip: Remember that the final appearance of your lips after the procedure can vary, so it is advisable to opt for a gradual approach to shading. This way, if you experience any uneven fading or are not entirely happy, we can easily make any adjustments for you.
